Potlucks with a Purpose

Transition Santa Cruz' monthly Potlucks with a Purpose, usually on the 4th Tuesdays from 6:00-9 pm, are where we mingle, share good food, and dive into some fascinating Transition-related topic or activity.

The Potlucks take place at the Live Oak Grange, 1900 17th Ave., in Santa Cruz, and are a joint effort with the Grange.

Generally, the potluck runs until about 7:00, followed by a brief introduction to Transition and latest news, a Needs and Offers and Community Announcements, and the topic of the month. There is also a market table where you can put your oversupply of zucchini or anything you'd like to share or trade.

Past topics have included A Resilient Water Supply, The Rail Trail and Sustainable Transportation, Creating Transition Superheroes out of Potatoes and Toothpicks, Ecological Artists the Harrisons presenting their work, and many more.

Regardless of topic, the Potlucks are always a wonderful coming together of people who are interested in the ideas and process of Transition and care deeply about the future of our beautiful community.

Topics and other details vary month to month, so check the homepage or newsletter for details. Hope to see you there!
